With the CLEARTEST Troponin I not only the detection of a myocardial infarction is possible but also the success control of the infarction treatment and the risk assessment of the probable course of the disease in patients with angina pectoris.
Here are the detailed data of the test:
- Troponin T after about 3 hours (often measured in hospitals!).
- Troponin I comes after about 8 hours and then remains detectable for about 7 - 10 days.
- The detection limit of the test is 0.5 ng/ml.
The evaluation takes place after 10 minutes.

The CLEARTEST Troponin I test is ideal for the diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome. Troponin is a protein that is released into the blood when the heart muscle is damaged. After a heart attack, cardiac troponins (cTnT and cTnI) are detectable in the blood from about 3 to 8 hours after the onset of pain. There are cases in which there is little or no change in the ECG, which is when laboratory values such as troponin become very important. Elevated troponin levels indicate cardiac damage; if troponin levels are consistently normal, a heart attack is unlikely.

The Roche Trop T sensitive test is a qualitative immunological rapid test for the specific detection of cardiac Troponin T from anticoagulated whole blood. It is easy to use and read, so it does not require special training. The result can be read after only 15-20 minutes after the blood sample has been applied to the test window.

What was TropT sensitive developed for?
The rapid test for troponin T was developed for the rapid diagnosis of myocardial infarction. Due to the release of a myocardium-specific biochemical marker, patients can now be diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome, as is the case with myocardial necrosis. Even in the absence of characteristic changes in the patient's ECG, a positive troponin T test indicates NSTEMI, thus supporting a rapid therapeutic decision.
Test principle
This test contains two monoclonal antibodies specific for troponin T (gold-labeled and biotinylated). These form a so-called sandwich complex with Troponin T. After the erythrocytes have separated, the plasma flows through the detection zone of the test. If the concentration of Troponin T is higher than 0.1 ng/ml, the detection line turns red. This occurs due to the accumulation of troponin T sandwich complexes. Excess gold-labeled antibodies bind and stain the control line. If the control line is visible, the test is functioning properly.
Test procedure of the Troponin test
- Remove the test strip from the package and place it on a flat surface.
- Collect blood sample (EDTA or heparinized venous blood only)
- Place sample on test strip
- Wait 15 - 20 minutes, then read test result (a positive result is indicated by two dashes)
Note:
If no dash is displayed, the test is invalid and must be repeated.
